A Classic Love Story
I love an Old Fashioned cocktail, it is one of my favorites. I love the classic; but I also like the versatility of the simple drink made with a few ingredients. My love affair is well documented: here- New Old Fashioned, here- Cardamom Old Fashioned, here- Bacon Washed Old Fashioned and I’m sure if you visit other pages throughout the site you’ll see even more.
And then… I tried the version with a sugar cube.
OH. MY!
There is something about muddling the sugar with bitters and a splash of water that creates additional depth to the drink. It brings the Old Fashioned to life with each sip geting a little sweeter. I love it even more and I didn’t think that was possible.
